The founder of the Belize Jiu-Jitsu Social Project in Belize City, an initiative to introduce BJJ to children in the city, Israel is the co-founder of the country’s first MMA Promotion and now the owner and header coach of Don’t Blink Jiu Jitsu in San Igancio, Cayo. With success in this arena, he now turns his focus and efforts to the development of the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.

A creative with a passion for media and a business leader helping to shape local industries, Elias has found deep love for the sports of BJJ and MMA. Having found the perfect merger of his passions and business, he now utilizes his resources to the betterment of the sports that have found a new home in his heart.

Sashira serves as Secretary of the Belize Mixed Martial Arts Federation, supporting the organization’s governance, structure, and development. As Chair of the Cayo District Gender-Based Violence Committee, she brings a strong focus on advocacy and women’s empowerment within MMA in Belize, working to create safe, accountable, and inclusive spaces.

Daniel’s personal journey through the sport has provided him with a deep appreciation for the discipline and dedication required to step into the cage. Boasting numerous bouts as an amateur athlete he has transitioned from competitor to Coach, and now channels his passion into coaching the next generation of athletes who are eager to test their skills in competition. He is dedicated to elevating the standard of MMA in Belize.

Accalia, a dynamic operations and human capital leader, is instrumental in the strengthening of organizational systems, the development of people, and the elevation of operational performance in key industries in Belize. She plays a central role in the operations and rapid expansion of one of the country’s largest and most recognized hospitality groups. She now lends her insights and expertise to the development of the sport of MMA.

Dr. Danny Yacab

Dr. Yacab is a young entrepreneur and serves on the board of several organizations, including the Red Cross, NHI, Belize Medical & Dental Association, and People’s Diabetes Foundation. An athletic and adventurous lifelong competitor, Dr. Yacab participated in national track and field events, Venture Scouts, Bujitsu, and youth groups. Now a practicing physician with growing expertise in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, Dr. Yacab combines his clinical skills with firsthand athletic experience to care for his fellow athletes.

Javier Romero

Javier Romero is a communications and marketing professional and currently serves as Communications and Marketing Officer at the Statistical Institute of Belize. He is also President and Commissioner of the Belize Boxing Commission and an executive member of the Belize Mixed Martial Arts Federation. In addition, he operates Grey Matter Consultancy Services Limited, a marketing and bookkeeping firm in San Ignacio, Cayo District. His expertise includes statistical communications, data visualization, creative production, and advancing combat sports governance in Belize.

Judy Vasquez is a dedicated mother of four and a full-time professional, known for her strong work ethic and leadership. Outside of work, she is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. She is committed to promoting the sport—especially the mission of encouraging more women in Belize to get involved. Her message is to use martial arts to build confidence and connection for women through training.

Creative at heart and passionate about capturing the journeys of athletes, the energy of events, and the spirit of the MMA community in Belize, Pablo joins BMMAF with the goal of helping the federation expand its reach and inspire new participants. Only a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he has already developed a personal connection to the discipline. He demonstrates the humility, and growth that martial arts demand, giving him an authentic perspective when sharing these stories.
